Randy Alcorn's Heaven, published in 2002, opened my eyes to the fact that heaven is actually something to look forward to. Growing up, I had many false images of heaven implanted in my head, to the point that I dreaded dying and going to be with the Lord because it just sounded so damned boring. Though I think Alcorn is heavy on speculation at points, and I disagree with some of his literal interpretations of prophecy, I wholeheartedly recommend Heaven. Here are some of my favorite parts:
