we've moved in

We’re officially moved into our new house on Lehman Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. Last weekend was spent packing, moving, unpacking, getting things organized, etc. Amanda and I took the two upstairs rooms, and Sarah moved in Saturday night and took the basement. We are slowly settling down and getting into the hang of things. It’s weird having our own place, not going to Dayton on the weekends; it’s weird sleeping in my own bed and going out onto the deck in the morning before school, drinking my coffee. It’s weird to be on my own, even though I’m still with Amanda and Sarah. But it’s a good weirdness. We’ve been having lots of people over: Jessie, Bethany, Kevin, Zach, Melissa, and Charles. Mandy is here right now, across the table in the dining room, writing letters before heading back to Chicago in mid-May.

I’m glad my friendship with Mandy is generally unaffected by what my last blog post entailed. We’re still good friends, and we still hang out and talk. It’s sad that she is leaving in under two weeks, and it is sad that I may very well never see her again. But I hope I will. I really do.

My good friend Monica is coming into town soon. I’m really looking forward to spending some time with her. She left Cincinnati in December, and I haven’t seen her since. My train-of-thought went straight to Monica following Mandy for two reasons. First, Monica was a failed “love interest” (as I jokingly say), but she became a really great friend. Second, Monica left Cincinnati just as Mandy is leaving, but hopefully—just as Monica is returning—Mandy will return one day.
