well, with all those things listed, what does a person do to help them not feel those things or think those things? i mean, praying just doesnt seem to be enough anymore
Honestly, there really is no clear-cut answer, no three-point formula. From what I have personally experienced, they DON'T go away. I have found that when I pray when the attacks come, they often levitate; the whispers disippate. But will they ever disappear? I don't think so. Satan has loose rule over the planet now; we're in a fallen state and Satan can and will mess with us. Praying for the whispers to stop is like praying to never experience temptation - it doesn't happen, for the reason stated above, and also because temptation builds ENDURANCE. So here is my suggestion, battle-hardened and tried-and-true. Don't always try to escape them. Actually, BATHE in them. What I mean is, don't immediately throw them off. Think about them. Dwell on them. But DON'T BELIEVE THEM. If you think about them, chances are you'll come to see that they are lies. You'll come to see that they don't fit in the puzzle right. And most of the time, when you discover this, Satan will back off - his cover is blown; he'll come around another time and try again. My main advice to you is this: pray that you will not be deceived. Pray that you won't believe his lies.
TWO-SECOND WHISPER:
This is relevant, I think. Here is an example of what I believe to be a whisper from Satan and/or demons (a fancy name for rebellious angels). A moment ago I went to Tyler's site (see it on the links, great stuff) and a friend named Rochelle commented on his blog and told him how he'd made a difference in her children's lives (also my friends, what a great big community!). Then in the back of my mind came this:
"He's making such a difference. You're not making a bit of difference. You never will."
I crucified the thought. Said, "No, it's a lie," and it vanished. We need to be aware. I challenge you, anyone who reads this, to spend the next 24 hours 'on alert' for the attacks of Satan. If you notice anything peculiar, just comment on it. We can't be ignorant any longer.
