The eye is not filled by seeing nor the ear satisfied with hearing. And yet we try to fill ourselves with what we see, and we seek to be satisfied by the melodies and sonnets of this world. We try to find peace, joy, and contentment in the things of this world: wealth, prosperity, materialism, success, fame, popularity. We seek to be satisfied, to experience that which we truly—knowingly or unknowingly—desire by the things of this world. And we strive. And we strive. And we strive. We strive till the day we die, never ascertaining that which we want. And why? Perhaps because we are grabbing at the wrong things, hoping in the wrong things, striving for the wrong things.
