This is the first part of a novella I've been working on, entitled "A Dream For Us." I originally intended this to be a short story, but it ended up being way too long. I am in the process of trying to work out which direction I want to take this story, towards a happy ending or a bitter one; and I am also in the process of figuring out what I want to do with this story until I get to that point. I have about five or six different routes I can take it, and all have their positives and negatives. Maybe I'll flip a coin.
